Elim Church

As a follower of Jesus it’s impossible to not engage, love and have a heart for God’s house. We all know there is something so special when you’re apart of a life giving community, a healthy vibrant church that has vision, care and a heart to see more people come to know Jesus. Today Ps. Lukas talks about having a heart for the house, why God has always chosen people AND places to dwell and bring His presence and how we as Elim Church can contribute financially to God’s house and the dreams we have.

God calls us into obedience to Him, in our walk, in our conduct, in our speech and in our giving. Yet if we will really let God take full control over our lives, over our heart, and over our finances, He will perform miracles with what we bring to Him. That is what is so incredible about Jesus.. He can take our smallest sacrifice, and create the most incredible surplus. We really hope you’ll hear Ps. Lukas’ message and plan to be a kingdom builder alongside Elim church.

The church has always been marked by generosity. Radical giving that fuels the great commission to all corners of the world. Yet, in the last 30 years, we as people have become less generous and more concerned with holding onto our money. The truth is, christians are called to be generous.. the greater truth, money and giving says more about you and your relationship to the gospel than you realize - lets step into the gospel and be marked by generosity so we can be a kingdom building church once again.

Not only is it baptism Sunday, but today we are joining with other 50 churches on Pentecost Sunday on what we believe is a historic day for our nation. We believe that baptism is a crucial step in everyone’s journey, and today we get to celebrate with heaven on this incredible Sunday.

It’s vision Sunday and we are looking ahead at all that God is calling Elim Church to be. In this sermon, Ps. Lukas casts vision over our church and helps us see that our vision although no different than the great commission still carries a specific heart that makes Elim Special. Elim is called to think globally, grow generationally and give generously. Join us this month as we discover more about what this means!

Our series "Dear Church” started from a place of writing a letter to a church all about the thoughts and emotions someone has as they walk into and engage in their local church. What’s so powerful is we already have biblical texts of Paul, writing to his local churches with wisdom and thankfulness. Yet if we look closer.. there is a theme in most of his letters to all the churches. That theme, is boldness. Dear church, it’s time to be bold again.

As we walk through a series about the local church, we need to look back at our first week on church hurt and ask ourselves where in our church practice have we maybe fallen short or gotten it flat out wrong? The local church should one end run and operate smoothly but also feel so intrinsically like a home to the people of God and a place strangers want to call home. The house of God is a place of healing! Growth! Comfort! We need to make sure we get back to that.

You’ve maybe heard the saying “the local church is the hope of the world” and in this sermon we break down just how important the church is, and how badly our world needs hope. Hope is contagious, it’s powerful, it stirs up communities, families and nations. We need hope more than ever and the local church as a very important part to play in bringing hope to the world.
